Hi Richard, Tami Overbey here from Indy. Finally got a couple pics for you of our new addition. We named #13 Chuck which fits him perfect and attached is a photo of me & him, then Gunnar my son and Chuck. He is a great dog, loves to play and is very loving. I thought it would be forever for me to fall in love with another dog after Boomer died, but Chuck is easy. He's loved by everyone and is very smart. Already sitting and catching balls. Sorry we've taken so long with the pictures, but we have been working a lot and the dogs are a hand full. We hope you and your family had a nice Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

|
Sadie is spoiled rotten as you can see in the pictures. Thanks again for finding us a very special puppy. Vickie & April

The pup is so cute!! and smart!!! He is doing great. Already catching on to getting housetrained. He is amazing, he just eased right into our family, a perfect fit and exactly what we were looking for. You really did a great job keeping us the right one. Will e-mail you some pics when we get time. We gave "Khoda" to our 8 yr. old as soon as dad got him home. She has been in puppy heaven ever since. I'm not sure how we made your day, but you have really had a big hand in helping make a little girl's Christmas be an extraordinary one. We will all remember the Christmas that we got Khoda!! I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas and may God bless you. Thanks for everything!!! Anita, Keith, Kristin, Kasey, Kandis, Buddy, and Khoda

Hello, We purchased a puppy at QH congress from you. We really love this puppy. He is also ready to play and work on his training lessons. He is very willing to please and easliy trained. I couldnt have asked for a better pup. I wish every other BC breeder would take this much care into raising the ideal border collies. I have attacted a pic my girlfriend and I with our puppy "Andy" in his new home in Delaware. Steve Breeding ~ Paradise View Farm

Richard the puppy got here around 9:30. She is adorable. She had a great night and has been playing all morning with little Allen. Thank- you so much. I will send you a picture of her and her new owner soon. Happy Thanksgiving. Susie Grant Just letting you know that Beau and Bell (that's what we named the puppy) are doing wonderful! They are both so sweet. When we go for a walk Beau likes to grab the leash in the middle and hold it his mouth (Who's walking who?). And Bell is getting to spend a lot of time in the house. You just can't leave a cutsie like that crying in the kennel! Thank you for raising such beautiful healthy dogs. We'll send pictures as soon as we can.

Dear Richard, I pulled up your Web Site and to my fascination - who did I see? Thank You so much for doing that. Emilee could not believe it! She's famous now! Magee is doing very well. I cannot believe how much she has grown. She loves to catch with our new NEON tennis balls. That little girl can really move. she still has not learned to enjoy the bath time - but I'm sure that in time this will come, I guess when she realizes that this is a no win situation! Emilee gets frustrated with her at times - Magee just does not listen! She is smart but gets rather confused with Emilee. I have got the sit and lay pretty down pat. we are working now on roll over, stay, come, etc. She knows the difference between "ball" and "toy". She's incredible. I had worked on getting She and Emilee into a training class, but the individual here wanted $300.00 because Emilee was too young to participate with the group setting. it would have to be at her home. Well, I am now thinking that Magee and I will do this together. Magee has really sparked an interest for me. I bought a book the other night while in Chattanooga. it's really quite interesting. it's really for all dogs but there's a section in agility training and do it yourself obstacles. they look fairly easy - I am rather handy with a hammer! I think that in the spring when all the major events in our lives have settled some and the holidays are over - Magee and I are going to get SERIOUS! Again I want to thank you for the picture on your Web Site. What an honor! I haven't been in touch like I should - but I'll try to do better. when I take more pictures of Magee, you'll be sure to get one, this I promise. You'll be quite amazed! Truly, Marilee Shackleford

Hi Richard, We''ve just arrived home at 10:45 pm (flight was delayed) so I wasn't able to call but knew you would get this first thing in the morning. She is absolutaly beautiful and greeted us at cargo with a wagging tail and kisses galore!!! The kids have thanked me endlessly tonight for their present and she investigated the house as if she has been here for years. We are now getting ready to have some rest and I am going to put her next to my bed. She is just too adorable and we all decided Lucy was a good name for her. On the drive home she stretched out on my mom's lap and fell asleep just like my border collie did when I was 9. The kids brought their camera to the airport so when I get them printed I will scan one over to you. Thank you so much for all you've done, she's such a joy in our house already!!! I am so thankful to have found your website and will keep you posted as to her well being. Once again, thanks for everything, Sincerely, Robyn

I bought my border collie from you 2 years ago. He's the greatest dog and when I getmy scanner fixed. I'll send you some pics. I was wondering if you still had the Dam Jo Jo and if you ever still had pups by her and hollowshot scot. I love my dogs temperment and would be interested in getting a full sibling to my dog. If you would email me and let me know I would appreciate it. Thanks, Lindsey T

I bought a puppy from Richard in December. We named him Zebulon "Zeb" he was from Hollowshot Scott and Lilly. He has beautiful eyes, almost a greyish color. He is very curious, loves to jump, has a huge appetite and a beautiful thick and soft coat. He is very healthy and active. I love him alot. He and my older border collie have not yet decided whose the boss. They go circles around each other and constantly keep an eye on each others every move. He is the new baby of the family and is loved very much. He is full of energy day and night. We have noticed that he doesnt really bark. That is completely unlike our other border collie. Hope all your pups and dogs are doing well and go to good homes.

Hi Richard, Just a note to let you know Riobella "Rio" is doing great! We started Puppy Obedience and she's catching on really quick. She is 5 months old now and weighs 26 lbs. You can tell she's a good eater! I'm very happy with her and will continue to let you know about her progress. Thanks, Deb Dierolf, Palm PA, March 04

Hi Richard, The pup is doing great-I haven't gotten a picture of her and me-just have one of her sleeping in my chair!! She goes with me in the truck-I also have a 12 year old border that has been with me since birth, and they have made a pair. She also gets along well with the other dogs, and is good in the house. I'll try to get a picture of her to you. A friend of mine will probably be checking with you about a red and white bitch-he has 2 black and whites and loves them dearly. He likes the looks and personality of my pup and will be checking with you. Good to hear from you-like I said, the pup is great!! Marilynn Baeyens, DVM, March 04

Just a quick note to tell you that Kaleigh, our blue merle/tri-color border collie that we purchased in October is doing great. She's about 27 pounds now and full of energy and play. Currently, she is busy herding her soccer balls and learning to play frisbee. I'll send an updated picture when I get them developed. I noticed that you now have a picture of Dan, her sire, on the site. He is gorgeous! I'd love to see a picture of Farmer's Joy, her dam, too. Have a great day! Debra Elder

For years I've wanted a quality red and white female border collie. When I seen her picture on the internet she caught my interest. When she arrived she stole our hearts. Thank You for making a dream of mine come true. The Doffermire Family, March, 04

Richard, I just wanted to let you know how happy we are with little "Scout". He is the perfect addition to our family. He is already starting to understand the concept of going outside and sometimes will even look at the door and whine when he has to go out. He is a sweetheart with a great personality. We are very happy with the whole process of bringing Scout into our life. Your driver, Steve, was great and very friendly. It was a pleasure dealing with you. Thanks, Daniel McDowell, DE, March

|
Thank you so much for Rose whose name will be Kisses-If the people around here remember...Today has been mostly outside with the children-chasing balls, which she returns already, and meeting the otherdogs. I'm ready for a nap but she isn't..... Thank you again, Leslie, March 04

|
Hi Richard! Here's the long promised picture of Kaleigh. As you can see, she's doing wonderfully. We were all in the backyard playing ball and Frisbee with her (she can catch the Frisbee now!!!), and she paused just long enough for us to snap this picture of her. She's so photogenic, and as you can see, she seems know it! She is so quick and smart and is very gentle with our 22 month old daughter. Kaleigh, the Border Collie, is now 8 months old and is well on her way to being spoiled rotten. She is also a really great watchdog. Anything that even looks at our fenced in backyard gets a loud and sometimes long bark from her, which is great, as that's one of the reasons we adopted her. She does a wonderful job of taking care of her family :-) Have a great day! Debra Elder April 04

Hi Richard, Just an update on your puppy you sold us ( now known as " Joe ").. He has done wonderful in his new home and he is deeply loved already. Spoiled a little to say the least by my mom and dad. We also purchased a female from another breeder, she is one week younger than Joe, however he loves his new playmate as well. Hope to send you a new photo soon. Thanks Again for your help, Brenda Taylor April 04

Richard, Just wanted to let you know I had molly out with the cows for the first time on Sunday. I had her tied to me with a leash at first while I was trying toget them in they were extra naughty), then I let her go and walk with me. Anyways I went and got some feed and got one of the cows up to the bucket and was leading her. Then Molly come up behind and got on that cow like you wouldn't believe. She got at her heals, ducked when she was kicked at. She run her the wrong way then. Later I gave someone else the bucket and brought her with me to herd up the cows. I told her to go get one of the cows lagging behind and she went and brought her up and she brought up another cow as well. I was really impressed. She didn't go for the head and kept going. She did really well. She is still a little skittish around people sometimes, but she is doing much better. She knew she did good out there. And her first time. Charlotte Rose, April 04

Hi Richard, We thought we'd seed you an update so you can see how he's doing. We are so happy with him, he's so wonderful with the babies. Jake and our two year old (Jessica) are just alike, their personalities are very similar...it's so funny when they get together, were never bored watching them. I just can't believe how gentle he is, especially since he's still a baby himself. Two year olds will be two year olds and she's pretty rough with him but he doesn't seem to care. We trust him completely with her. When the kids are with him he would rather sit by them, especially our 4 month old. Great dog! Thanks so much! Barbara Horton September 05. PS. These pictures were not staged, these are some we took while we were at the barnyard. His obedience is going great as well!

| Hello Richard. It's been almost a year now since we bought "Jill" from you. She's now "Emmy" and is turning out to be a wonderful dog. Here's a picture of her first birthday party at the beach. From left to right it's Holly (her "cousin"), Emmy, and Chip (her big brother). Holly is our daughter's BC who comes over to play and likes to go on vacation with us. | Hello Richard, It has been over 6 months since we welcomed Baden into our home. The more time that passes, the more he is a member of our family. Baden is so very smart as well as entertaining. We have taken him hiking, to 4th of July celebration, he comes to football practice & games with me. He is included in everything we do. He is excellent around the kids and their friends, although he was afraid of the football helmets in the beginning. Every command & "trick" we give teach him, he learns almost instantly. Our youngest is in the process of teaching Baden his own commands & between the two of them I think they will get it. We are constantly working on his attention, ie sitting and staying, normal things that require him to control himself. He loves to go for walks and sniff around, occasionally he will stop to "talk" to other dogs. He is excellent at catching an object in mid air. He also loves to wiffle ball. He plays centerfield, the kids hit the ball, he catches it and returns it to whoever threw it. He is quite good at making up his own games too and honestly those can be hilarious to watch. We can safely say that Baden is a treat to have, a handful to keep busy, so sweet and loving (he would lick you to death)and all around exactly what we were looking for. Thank you so much for producing such a fine dog. We hope you enjoy the pics, we couldn't pick just one! Have a good day, The Yarbrough Family ~ October 2005 |

Richard, Just wanted to send you these pics and let you know that "Tyler" is adjusting very well to his home here and is very alert and attentive. He watches everything and nothing gets by him. We love him and just wanted to say thanks. Eric Russell, Maryville, TN ~ October 2005

Just a line how happy we are with our Border Collie. Bandit was one of your pups born 6/17/05. We got him from foster home here in N.J. My wife wanted a small dog since we were married 15 years ago! Well, we went to Las Vegas for our anniversary and visited a ranch near the Grand Canyon where they had Border Collies. I said, I could have a dog like that. When we got home, low and behold, the ad was in the paper for Border Collies, the rest is history! Bret, Kathleen & Shannon Bogar, NJ ~ September 2005

Hi guys, the border collie that we adopted (Sophie) is now named Mandy. She is a great dog for us. She can now sit, lie down, shake, almost role over, come at a short distance (were working on long distance) almost fetch, and almost heal at 9 months! She still bites a little and jumps up but, we're getting there. I love her so much. She is as fast as lightning and will be a very good agility dog (champion, maybe!) Thanks so much! Katie Medley ~ October 2005

Richard, Just thought I'd touch base with you to let you know how little "Maverick's" transition is going. First of all I want to tell you, he's the most beautiful dog I've ever seen, I can't wait to see him in a fuul adult coat. His markings are spectacular. I had no idea he had so much white from the photo, and his blue merle color is perfect. We just returned from the vet (not his favorite place) where he recieved a clean bill of health. He sleeps at the side of my bed, in a carrier-for now. He's very content there, especially for a 12 wk old puppy, and has slept through the night since we've gotten him. He's virtually accident free (I don't count the first seconds he was here, my kids let him down inside right away to play). He already understands he's supposed to do his business right away outside, it hasn't stopped raining since we've got him home, so we don't play around outside. My other border collie is adjusting well to him, she plays very carefully. Well, I just wanted to let you know that things are great here. Your new driver is wonderful, I could tell he truly loved him. Thankyou so very much, I couldn't be happier. I'll be checking the mail for his registration application. Tracy Liller of PA ~ October 2005

Hi Richard, Here are some photos of the puppies. The kids names are Mark (he's the younger boy), Stephanie and Brian. The kids are having so much fun! I can't believe how soft their fur is - they are really smart. Chloe immediately learned that she must sit if she wants to be petted. They are very obedient and SO sweet and gentle with the kids. Linda Wolfe, CA ~ October 2005

Hi Richard, Here are a few pictures of Reagan. He is such a great puppy! The whole neighborhood is enjoying watching him grow! His training is going well--because he's so smart! Thanks again for everything ~ Michelle Sabados & family ~ November 2005

Richard, We just wanted to wish you and your familiy a Happy Thankgiving. Zoe, the Ben-Anne Female we bought from you is doing well, she is going to be a big dog. She just finished obedience school and I have a sheepdog trainer available to train her when she gets a little older. I think she will do well. I will send you a picture when we get our new camera, Zoe looks alot like her mother with her daddy's size. Thank you, Daniel and Robin Machado, Albany, Oregon ~ November 05

I just wanted you to know that we love our border collie puppy that we got from you (bred by Richard Swafford, born Aug. 4, 2005). My husband named him Peyton (after P. Manning, the Colts quarterback.) He is learning to walk on his leash and already knows a couple of tricks. He is great company for me and definitely one of the best Christmas presents I have ever gotten. Cheryl, December 2005

Richard, We made it home Saturday with the new puppy just fine. We named him Lucky Stripe, because he was lucky we picked him, and he has that stripe across his back. Caine is slowly taking to him, he's been the lone dog at our home, but the neighbor had a couple of dogs that he used to play with, so he'll come around soon. Lucky is showing signs of being just as good as Caine when he grows up. He's at least as smart. My birdhouse business web page is www.wolfteverwoods.com ~ Thanks for a great puppy. Delbert & Margaret Secrest ~ Dec 05

Richard, I thought I would give you an update on Jake. He's doing great! He's very loving with the babies and is a great guard dog, he lets me know whenever there's a stranger in our yard. But he's not a bit aggressive towards family and friends. I've attached a picture taken of him yesterday 1/8/06. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!! Talk to you soon, Jamie & Barbara Horton ~ January 06 ~P.S. Sorry he's so dirty, he was helping me with the ducks and chickens

Richard, Please read this to Angie and Blue Chip - I am fine and happy and having a great time in the snow. Moss is my new mentor. See pictures.... He is a bit grumpy but when my staff (people) are not around he breaks down and plays. And he sometimes lets me sleep with him. My staff think I am great and say things like "she is so agile she could be a dancer" and " she came with no hang ups and is just perfect". They like me a lot but when I chewed on the tail of the big motor thing they got real screechy in the voice and said harsh things .... ??? maybe I should only chew my leather toys. My main staff person is Dave, he takes me to work and we (moss and I) can watch sea otters and sea lions in the bay. Moss talks of bears in the spring being hard to chase off but in the fall when they come for the apples they are easy to chase. The plane ride was ok, I have dog doors so getting "house trained" was easy. Miss you all, Baily (my new name) from Alaska! ~ January 2006

Richard, It's been since before Christmas that I've contacted you, but rest assured, Midge is doing just great. I think you may have underestimated her worth. She's a terrific horse herding border collie, not overly aggressive and very clever at keeping away from their hooves, except on two occasions. In both cases she was hardly hurt, no broken bones or lost teeth, and she learned a lot from those experiences. The thing that amazed me and a friend, who has a couple of big rams and a goat, was how she worked them like a trained dog, even "penning" them properly. She did this all on her own when she was only about 8 months old. She's turned into a beautiful little dog, which is why I kept the name you and your family gave her. I like the fact that she won't be very big, she fits my lifestyle much better that way. I'm sending along a couple pictures of her, tho not any "family portraits" because I have to be the photographer. I've told many people about your website, and I was very happy to see the pictures of "Bo" and "Maggie" on there. Midge expression looks a lot like her sire, don't you think? Regards, Sally Sparrell - Waynesville, Ohio

| I want to thank Richard for guiding us through this past week. Most breeders would have not cared about a puppy once sold. However,I consider Richard a loving pet owner who shares with others who love border collies rather than a breeder.Recently, we adopted the most beautiful little male ,"Scottie",.He was clean ,worm-free,healthy,and a ball of energy. The other older pets accepted him which was my initial concern.Scottie played with the family outside on the Fourth of July. The temp was rather hot, however, scottie took a dip in the pool and loved it.At one point,Scottie found something in our yard that he ate.Either a plant or something else that made him deathly ill.We took him to the vet and received treatment, however,Scottie didn't make it.Our family was devasted as expected. We have never lost a puppy but had seen our old pets die when their lives had gone full circle.Losing a young dog hurts incredibly more.Richard and I talked several times a day during this time.He offered advice, compassion and concern as he loved the puppy ,too.I wanted to express my gratitude to Richard and let anyone interested in adopting a border collie to consider this kennel. We are planning to return and adopt another puppy of which I plan to keep in -sight at all times! | We just checked our messages and waylon is doing great. His favorite friend at the house isn't't one of the other dogs but John Wayne, the cat! But, they all play great together. We just adore him. Also, you absolutely can use the picture of us on your website. I will call you in about a week to get you to give him his next shot if that is still fine with you. Thank you for the great new addition to our family. Andrea Kovalik |
